  • mSR X Sticking servo/s Quick fix or terminal?

    Hi All.

Happily flying about tonight....then it just ditched and the servos were buzzing.

    Tried a few other batteries....re-bound it...no difference.

Can anyone with one tell me if the servo arms, when at rest, should both be at the bottom of their travel?

I manually wound them both to centre and when I powered it up, they both shot to the bottom and the elevator one just spins and buzzes??

Video not great, but may help my explanation

    Cheers,

If it helps, I've just rattled off a quick couple of pics of mine at rest, no battery though. Apologies for the quality, taken on my phone.
If you want any more, or a vid of it firing up/powering down, let me know

    Eh?

        Hi Adam,

Just had a quick look at mine and they're more or less the same as Murv's. As close as I can tell the centre hole on the 'servo arm' is about middle to the servo length, powered up and at rest.

It might be worth trying again but with the heli level and still. Probably a return to HH job though. Someone else had one that fell out of the air a few days ago.

            Cheers Fellas.......

            HH it is methinks.......

The aileron servo is locked at the bottom and won't move, even manually...............

              Hi Mate,
I had this sent it back to horizon about 6 months ago, and the guy on the told me it was fixed and that i should not have returned it because of a duff servo.
They a not a repair centre....i was like WTF?
He said they had test flew it and it should be with me tomorrow..
It then arrived without a bearing in the top block for the main shaft..I then called back irate..He said he had no bearings in stock...And he would send me one when he could...

Shameful service and cost me £50.00 or so for the new servos..

They let me down on that occasion. But have good sometime with their service.

The servo shouldn't have failed, unless it was crash damage. Why wasn't it fixed under guarantee?

I have no idea why they didnt replace under guarantee.
                  The servo did fail.
And they wanted to do nothing about it.
Until i asked what i wanted them to do.
Service was shocking on this occasion.

                    The Bad News

Technical report: Servos locked over. Blown FETs.

                    The Good News

Returned repaired and in perfect working order

                    Unbelievable service.

Posted midday Tuesday......arrived midday Thursday. They even replaced the busted canopy and the main gear (as well as the board)

Many thanks Horizon Hobby for a Five Star service............
