  • What do you carry your mSR in?

    Hi,

Just trying to get some ideas of what i could carry my mSR in, is there any case actually made for the msr or do people make them? What do you use to carry your mSR?

Im thinking of trying to get a small aluminium case, maybe a align 250 case or something but cant find any cheap foam.

Any other ideas as the box it cam in is a bit rubbish as it doesnt look good enough?

    Thanks

Just get a small alu case, I think ive seen a mold for the mSR in foam, cant think where though.

EDIT: found these images for ideas:
    I like this one

Im guessing all they do is buy a foam block and cut your desired moulds and stick it in the alu case.

Cool thanks, i like the first one thats the sort of thing i would need as i dont need it to hold the transmitter. Would have to get the trex case without the window though as i would be worried about breaking it.

Any ideas of the size of this Align Aluminium Case From Heliguy.com#
      ?

      Its about £13 cheaper.

Any ideas where to get the foam from as the best price ive got it around £20?

      Cheers

Id says its plenty big enough, maybe to big. you could probably get the foam from an indoor market, or even hobby craft would do it i reckon.

Alright mate,I have this case here from Maplins. They are £20 but every now and again they reduce them down to £10

They come with foam and all you have to do is rip out the squares you want

Thanks for the reply, will try there tomorrow morning as i am going past hobbey craft anyway. If not then then the msr might be in a maplins case .

              Thank you all!!

Wow- that is all very posh

I use a plastic food box with some kitcken paper in it- I figure the MSR takes enough bumps when it crashes that it can tolerate a bit of jiggling in a box :P I figure as long as nothing can crush it, the heli will be fine. Batteries go in my pocket to keep them warm, DX6i and heli box go in a rucksack- cost =£0- very unlike me to take the cheap option.

I was in two minds to get the red version but in the end I went for the yellow one, plenty of room for my 500 as well!

Went and got the case from maplin. Its smaller than the one above but exactly what i wanted . I just need another 11 batteries now to fill it up .

Here it is. Not sure how you display it as a picture so will have to post link.

Here's mine - a foam lined hard case from Jessops (I think but i got it years back) plus the clear plastic parts that protected the heli in the MSR X BNF box. The case closes snuggly on the charger and stops it from bouncing around in the spare space. Works great.

These cases look like the next purchase to protect my Msrx and new dx6i

wonder if I could fit in a Msrx and Cpx etc in one maplin case??

                        anyone tried that ??

I did consider an aluminium case but eventually decided on very cheap and very compact.

                            Ingredients:

                            1. Small plastic box (from Homebase)
                            2. Inside out Nokia box (Power supply & spares)
                            3. Draught excluder (heli padding)
                            4. Dish sponge (Keeps Nokia box centred during transit)
                            5. Plastic lidded tray (from Homebase)
                            6. Exterior vinyl sticker (eBay)
