  • Fried 3 in 1 mixer?

Think I have fried the 3 in 1 on my cx2.Had a crash at full throttle. Now the light goes to red after 2 thirds throttle.Changed the motors,re binded to the tx but still the light goes red.All the shafts are straight and all bearings where changed just before the crash.Even with the system stripped down to bare motors I have the red light.Have I fried the 3 in 1?Or is there a way of resetting? Its the type thats stuck to the 6100 rx.

The light goes red at 2/3 throttle - is that while you are actually flying or just messing on the deck?

Are you getting normal/any flight, but just with the addition of the red light?

Are all other control functions kaput or are they working?

        Update

Sorry guys but I didnt get an alert to say my post had been replied to.

The heli was only lifting of the ground briefly then the light would come on and loose power and have to land.

I ordered a new 3 in 1.Connected it up tonight and no good the same thing happens,I have disconnected all the gears from the motors to ensure no binding but same thing.I have even disconnected the motors and same thing.I now think it may be the RX.I may have damaged it inthe crash,so now I am going to order a ar6100.I may have well have just bought a new heli

I am missing my flights round the house

Good move - they are certainly the ones to help.

Daft question though - but are you certain that your battery isn't playing up?

Red light and no power is typical behaviour on my machine when I've been messing around on and off the workbench and not realised I've taken the battery to the point of need of a recharge.

A couple of times now, I've been cursing until it dawned on me what I'd done.

              Doh!

              Roger.

I wish it was the battery.I have four of them all fully charged and no problems before the crash

Well, you've certainly covered the investigation in a logical way - and that seems to suggest your fear of extra expenditure may be realised.

                  My commiserations.

It's amazing how quickly the spares box grows containing the still serviceable bits bought trying to sort problems on these little buggers out eh?

Yes parts galore,I will wait to see what fastlad suggests but as you say A new rx will probably be required - will let you know the outcome

Honestly not sure how it could possibly be an rx fault. Try plugging another servo into the throttle channel and see if it moves all the way through it's normal range if so then there's nothing amiss in the rx.

I'd be tempted to check that nothing is binding or sticking or causing any undue friction in the drivetrain also check your batteries are ok. I'd guess it's more to do with something causing an unduly high current draw.

Hi I have already disconnected the drive train to rule out friction/binding issues - I dont know if i can connect a servo direct to the thottle channel as this is usually connected to the esc 3 in 1?

You can swap one of the servo leads for the throttle channel and plug the throttle into any spare socket. The power for the rx can come from any channel port.

OK tried that - got full movement out of the servo but the light on the 3 in 1 went red after 3/4 stick then flashed between red and green at full stick.

I think it's maybe a case of trying a quick email to eflite to say what they think, Horizon Hobbies (I think, so double check...) are the UK importers and they have an excellent customer service reputation.
