  • Taking the plunge.

    Ello folks,

After a couple of weeks of browsing the net for advice Ive ordered a CX2 with the training gear which will be here tommorow. Ive flown fixed wing but gave it up a few years ago after moving house.

I was tempted by the cx3 but have read they have alot of problems so didnt bother and the CX2 is cheaper anyway, I will be getting Pheonix next week also but funds have prevented this straight away as my car has needed Tax, Insurance, MOT and 2 new tyres since christmas (moan moan grumble).

So with no upcoming bills Ill easily be able to afford new blades, shafts replacment plasma screen etc etc!

Im off now anyway just want to wish all the other begginers good luck! Kick the tyres and light the fires.....

Thanks for the welcome! I got her today and all is well I fitted the training gear and spent the first pack trimming her in.

I couldnt get the rudder to stay exactly spot on but its moves one way or the other very slowly so I dont think i could get much better.

Very glad i got the training gear as its giving me alot of confidence I just wish the pack would charge quicker! Im thinking this wont bother me so much when I have the sim as I wont be spending 2 hours watching a pair of LED's.

Very happy with it but come on charge!!!

hi mate i wouldn't worry about the tail they all move a little even more as the bats run down ,i would get red of the tg as soon as poss it flies much better without them.

Your right about the TG it flys much better without it! Must of put 20 charges through it now and even better Im off work next week!

Also Ive found a active RC Heli Club just 10 minutes from my house (going to see them tommorow)!

Im getting Pheonix and an Mcx BnF with next Fridays wage packet (I deserve it as my car has had to have over a grand put into it since christmas and I havnt spent anything on myself since then)!

Wee just drained a whole pack without having to touch down!

Wish we could have a calm day though I really need some more room Ive been eyeing up a couple of very small smoothie bottles to use as water floats in the summer lol (getting ahead of myself).

Its great being back in a flying hobbie I really enjoyed flying planes before I moved house and got married. Im spending countless hours window shopping on the web even If I know Im not ready for any of it!

                  Have fun Folks.

I truly think your mCX will give you a really good lead into your handling of the CX2 - and ultimately lessen the financial pain. My CX2 rotor blade consumption dropped dramatically AFTER I'd bought, and learnt to torture the cat, with the mCX.

                        Hi Cotti and welcome!
I started with a CX2 and Phoenix in August - great way to start.

Word of warning though, it is addictive - I bought a Blade 400 pretty quickly and am now eyeing up the next one - T-Rex 500?

                        All the best

Its inbetween Crewe and Alsager (I actually live in Stoke and work in Crewe and its less distance to the club than work is)! I didnt go Sunday because of the Rain, Sleet, Hail fire and brimstone weather we had!
