Looks great. I have just finished the build on my goblin 500. It left the ground today for the first time. Good luck with the maiden.

Nice one! I really like my Goblin500 too. I've put the VX1n on the 700X based upon how nicely my G500 flies with it!

Hi Tom Great build. Why did you choose to drop the AR7200BX for the vortex? Did the servos you mention come with this as part of the kit? Are you happy with the motor? I think that's also part of the kit? One day! I'll be there

I had bought the Vortex before I bought the 700x - I snapped up one of the VX1n's at their intro price of £129. I've got a VX1 on my Goblin, and I love the way it flies, so figured I would standardise on this technology as my FBL of choice. It's easy to setup, and the datapod is really cool too. I suppose I could have stuck with the AR7200BX as an alternative strategic choice, but I'm working on the assumption that Spartan are about to put a lot of development effort into the the Vortex line. It's all a bit academic really as my flying isn't good enough to really stretch any FBL unit.

The combo kit comes with everything (including servos) except the ESC (although, as mentioned, Blade now have a partnership with Castle). The basic kit contains the airframe only.

The cables come like that Rob - it's a rubber sheath over each wire. If you look on the link below, and click on the "click to enlarge" picture of the cable towards the bottom of the page, you can get a closer look at one. It's a neat system I think ..

Cheers Tom just had a look at A.Main from your link , it is indeed a very neat finish looks much better than my scabby attempts with brade , damn stuff stretches & goes all baggy . The stuff on yours looks a bit like the stuff they use on the BLS 251 , i bet you got a nice neat wiring install with those servos .
                      Rob .

Thanks. Never really set out to buy so many helis. Just got a bit carried away over the last year or so! I've only flown the 700X a few times, but I absolutely love it! It really is an immense machine to fly and I'm extremely happy I've got it! I might need to improve my charging setup a bit though as 12S is pushing my charger/power supply combo to the limit at the mo.

If I'm 100% honest, I think the 700X is a significant improvement over the 550X. Both fly well, but the 700X is more open to different setups. The mod-0.8 main gear on the 550X limited the motor options somewhat (not that I'm good enough to need a fancy motor), but it reduced its appeal to better pilots. Lynx have now produced a mod-1 main gear for it now which changes this, but I think Blade made a mistake on that point.

The 700X though is a different kettle of fish. There's very little I dislike about it, and a lot to like.
