If anyone is considering taking this route then DON'T. Stay with the stock EC3 connector on the heli and buy the batteries and charging board to fit it unless you want a nightmare like me. If I had done that I wouldn't be in nearly as much mess right now. I've linked to the relevant posts, as my thread below went a little off topic:
