  • 450x or 450 3D

    Hello

can anyone explain the difference between these two? Apart from about £150+ ?

still not sure if ill go with blade for my 450 really fed up of the tail wag on the blade range right from start to finish! My learning heli the mcx2 wags really bad from new and the nano cpx has a slight wag from box getting the 130 x and now read that this model also suffers from the blade tail wag!

Can anyone recommend a decent 450 size heli that won't suffer from tail wag that binds to a dx8? Beginning to wonder if I should have gone the walkera way? Took me a lot of research to start with and may have made the wrong choice!

    any feedback much appreciated!

    Cheers

The 450x is a superb helicopter, love mine, the 450x is FBL and the 450 3d is flybared, the 450x is alot better spec.
Never had any problem with tail wag on mine, has worked great from the off

The 450x is flybarless so most of that £150 extra is the beastX flybarless controller. The 450-3D uses mechanical stabilisation (a flybar). Take a close look at photos of both and you can see the difference in the head unit, just below the main rotors.

Personally I find the 450x easier to fly, and its certainly easier to fix mechanically in the event of a crash as the 450-3D's flybar can make a right mess in a crash, and its quite fiddly to fix.

both will bind easily to the DX8. And no, you've made the right choice not going for walkera. They only have limited suppliers in the uk whereas blade has probably 90% of the ready to fly market here.

Both the 450-3D and 450x will be excellent choices.

You went from asking whether to get a Blade450, to now asking about a Goblin :/ ????

              Theres a big difference between a 450 and a 700size Goblin.

What flying experience do you have ?

They are great. they are also very advanced, and incredibly dangerous (in the wrong hands) RC models. You really need to be a very good or advanced pilot with at minimum, 1 year's flying experience I would say.

Go to a 450 sized next from your mCX2. Trust me, it'll scare you more than enough, and the crash bills will make you glad you didn't spend >£1500 on a 700 Goblin!

                  450x or 450 3D

To give you some sense of scale. Here's a 450x next to a compass 7HV (also a 700 machine )

Ah right, well I wouldn't even consider a Goblin if your only experience is with two micro heli's. Not saying you're bad at flying, just wouldn't be worth the risk. That's my honest opinion.

Sweet pic just need the nano cpx now to complete the collection

Hi Sams yes im a beginner really, can hover a CP and have nose in hover ok but thats all so far. This is just ground work so that when I am ready to get a bigger bird I know exactly whats out there and what to get in that class (450 to 500) I didnt realise that the goblin was a 700 and thought that it would also come in smaller siozes such as a 450.

I am curious now though about the 500x by blade as it sounds such a similar size... ANy views on the 500x by blade? Much appreciated...

IMO, the 500X is way to over priced for what you get. You're better off buying something like a TREX 500 EFL. Or maybe snap up a good second hand deal for a 500.

I've spend sooo much money on my 500 its gotta be worth over £1000 now, but I'm now 100% Happy with it.

But, for now I'd still recommend you buy a 450X, it's a big jump from Nano CPX to 450X, but it'd be worth it. 450 size is plenty enough for now.
