If you're getting it as part of the 450X, there's nothing to do - should work sweet out of the box...Tom

Bit of late reply but in case anyone new reads this thread! When I got mine the shop implied it would fly right out of the box but he did admit he wasn't the expert on 450Xs, that guy was not in! Having problems setting mine I went back to the shop to discover why mine wasn't doing what I was expecting (transmitter set to handle the mix instead of mechanical mixing, the Beastx does all that for you NOT the transmitter. This time I spoke to the 450X guy and he explained 3 things. 1) there is no guarantee that it is indeed set up correctly (he has come across a few that had been reset before sale and crashed as a result) 2) you need to check that the servo are going in the right direction for your transmitter (pitch servo wrong on mine) 3) there is no better way to understand how the Beastx works with your helicopter then to follow the instructions (on the Spektrum website) for setting it up from scratch
I'm still playing with mine and have just about got my head round the programming, just trying to confirm the servo frequencies and timing etc., anyone know where I might find these?Morley MXA, Kyosho Nexus 30, Blade 450 X, ARC Fournier RF4, Carisma Ferrari F1

heres a list of servo frequencies -= BEASTX - BE ABSOLUTE STABLE =- it should also tell you what the std frequencies are in the 450x manual on the beast x setup pageLast edited by A.N.T; 08-05-2013, 09:18 AM.Blade mSRX

I would never ever trust what someone at the shop said. I always check the setup myself if i fly something new to me. Better to loose two hours to re-setup than crash your new heli.Compass 7HV, Beastx

Thanks, but that shows how to program different frequencies into the Beastx, not what the actual servo frequencies are! I suspect that the default settings may be correct however page 12 is straight out of the user manual for the Beastx if you buy it on its own and therefore these settings my be generic.Morley MXA, Kyosho Nexus 30, Blade 450 X, ARC Fournier RF4, Carisma Ferrari F1

The default means that is the one what apply for the 450X. There is nothing to "tweak" there. The factory fitted some kind of servos(DS76 on cyclic and DS76T on tail) and these should be told In the setup menu to the beastx. The manual tells you as default what the settings have to be. The parameter menu could be altered to suit better to your skill/stile/taste.Originally posted by Megadodo View PostSorry, a double check shows there are some differences in the "default" settings so I'm hoping the one from the 450X manual shows the actual servo settings!Compass 7HV, Beastx

Okay, so I have had a play with mine, sorry, carefully researched and adjusted mine. The 7200 does appear to carry the default settings that are in the Blade 450X manual. I adjusted nothing on the Beast itself so it does appear to be fully set-up. However I did have to reverse 2 servos in the Tx and set all the curves and settings as per the 450X manual but that was only to be expected. Now I just need to grow some and take the thing for a spin!Morley MXA, Kyosho Nexus 30, Blade 450 X, ARC Fournier RF4, Carisma Ferrari F1

If you reversed servos after the beastx setup-you mixed up the settings in the beastx. You should set the transmitter first eg. curves, channel reversing as per manual. Then comes the beastx as when you control the heli you just tell the beastx what you want and it senses the position of the heli and computing what the servos have to do. Therefore the beastx has to know the mechanical of the heli eg servo frequencies, swash plate arrangement(120deg in this case) servo directions and so on. These the default settings (marked in your manual). Then also the beast has to know what is the servos position(swash leveling) at mid stick(servo centering (setup menu G)), head geometry ant cyclic/collective limit. If any one of these is wrong you almost certainly will crash it! It sound more dificult than what it is. So the right way:Tx as per manual, beastx as per manual. There's nothing to tweak in the beastx setup menu!
Hope that's make sense.Compass 7HV, Beastx

Also by the look at it the blade manual doesn't explain anything about the setup points. Download the manual from here: http://www.beastx.com/manuals/MICROBEAST_3.0.3_ENG.pdf
and follow it from page 36 but use your appropriate default values for servos and such. Your time what you spend to get it right will pay for itself.Compass 7HV, Beastx
