You're already taming it with the rates. Travel adjust has more to do with swash levelling (amongst other things). If I recall correctly travel sets end points so that the swash can be set level top, middle and bottom. That's very basic but that's all I remember.
I also fly mine by the book, and you can't go wrong, plenty of punch and 3D's a breeze (mild 3D in my book )
EDIT: Personally mate, set it up by the manual, fly it and see how it feels to you, if it's a bit too twitchy for you, then you can tame it down. All the travel adjust does is limit the amount of movement in the servos, so at this point in time i'd leave it.
You may just need to increase the expo a bit, maybe to around +15, this basically dumb's the sticks a bit so the heli's not as twitchy in the center of the sticks.
But yeah, just fly it first, and then you can find out if its worth taming it, I have fly mine with stock manual settings and it's fine
I dumbed the 450 with your settings and it has made a huge difference in sensitivity. Much better know for me. The 60% DR has made the difference! I was told not to use DR but it has helped me! Why not use DR?Weirdly the expo was set at -40? Is that good or bad? Thought it had to be positive expo?
The 450 was setup too sensitive for me. Was too hard to control. Now I can practice some circuits with a little more confidence!
-40 is bad (assume you're using a spektrum Tx). That would make for high sensitivity around mid stick. Glad it helped.
Yes it's a DX7. It was mad for me. It was set up for a more expierenced pilot. When I get used to it and want more sensitivity, what should I change first? Dual rates or expo?
