    Thinking about it ...

I guess it depends what you mean by "down elevator". I mean bring the elevator (right stick) down (ie. towards your body). This has the effect of lifting the nose when upright, and lowering the nose inverted (thereby lifting the tail)

Thanks for putting me right on that. I have always thought of that as applying "up elevator". I try not to think of which way I am pushing the sticks.

Sorry to go off your thread a bit OP.

When upright, yes, but when inverted down elevator (stick forward) will drop the tail.

I suppose as mentioned earlier it depends on what you mean by 'down elevator' but for anyone with a fixed wing flying background would automatically think of 'down elevator' was being pushing the stick forward.

              ASK DJ Aerotech Question

Using the terms 'pull' and 'push' avoids any confusion (hopefully).

                Yep..
Well, now we have decided what the elevator stick does.... how does this help the OP? Does he mean down elevator or down stick?
If it was a FB heli, I would suggest that the COG was miles out, and it had been trimmed to compensate, which would make things worse when inverted.
Tail heavy trimmed with down elev would fly OK upright, but inverted the nose down trim would add to the tail heavy COG making it miles out of trim...
But FBL should compensate for COG errors I would think.
                Hmmmm..

And happy to have FOUR shiny EGS

Lol I mean down stick dude. How do I test the COG though? It could actually make sense, although I havnt trimmed it at all for it to be so much better upright?
