  • Crashed my 450X

    Hello All,

Put my 450X in today, Oh so sad, I know its part n parcel of this hobby but this is third time in 9 months, I am progressing but very slowly, heli was heading towards me nose in and somehow I wrong thumbed it and it went in. Blades, boom, feather shaft, maybe a bit more, maybe 50 quid, not a huge sum but I shouldnt be doing it now. Just thought posting might help get it off my chest.

Unlucky, sorry to hear that always hurts. 3 crashes in 9 months that doesn't seem so bad but that's based on how many flights you are doing in that time I've gone through it as well just gotta stick with it, which is easier said than done I felt like quitting so many times just never could and I'm glad I didn't

Sorry to hear about your crash Paul. I know it is no consolation to you but we all do it. I've put my 450x in twice so far this year both times needing new frames. They don't cost much but it isn't a quick job sorting out the mess. Unscrewing everything, checking shafts, servos etc. before moving everything over to new frames and going through the Beastx setup again. It hurts but as others have said it is all part of the hobby.

Sorry man but your only human fella, I put my 500 pro DFC in last night, blades did not do well against a concrete block wall, and all because of a stripped link,

You could always consider getting a receiver with a bailout facility.

I got fed up crashing and making slow progress so I got a Helicommand HC3-SX (now Bavarian 3SX). Fantastic! I haven't had a crash since and I have made great progress. It took me a year to get to doing circuits but once I got the 3SX I took just a couple of months to loops, rolls, flips, inverted hovers... I never worry about crashing except with equipment failure which nothing can help with! I now have 2.

The Bavarian isn't the only one but it is a super FBL receiver or FB gyro with full bailout/recovery.

I always hear people say they are so expensive... but are they seeing as it almost guarantees you will never crash again because of finger trouble or general lack of experience? I think they are worth every penny if it means you spend time flying and making progress instead of crashing and repairing not to mention the saved cash in parts.

I decked my 550DFC last weekend inverted and I am sulking because most of the parts i Need are out of stock
First lie down this heli has had in 18 months so its not so bad, I'm just missing it a bit

Although stripping it I found the motor shaft has worn under the front bearing, New one required, So maybe the crash was a blessing
