  • 450X metal upgrades

    Hello All,
Am having to replace the tail case on my 450x and wondered if there is much benefit to upgrading to metal parts, would any other parts on the heli benefit by being replaced with upgrades, may as well buy them in now for when theyre needed.
    Thanks

Metal transfers the energy from an impact onto another component, so simply shifts the damage along the chain a bit. I personally wouldn't bother upgrading anything still servicable with alloy parts either for the same reason.

I recently bought a very cheap, almost all plastic Gaui 425 from ebay and was gobsmacked when it flew just as well as my all alloy and carbon trex 550! sure a full on 3d smack head would probably notice but I definately can't!

Save your money for more batteries/next helicopter.
MSH Protos Max V2. Vbar Neo, Cyclone 715, zeal, talon 120
    MSH Protos 500 FBL. VX1e, Zeal 480
Trex 150. In one piece and flying well........for now!!

The 450x really doesn't benefit from metal upgrades. They're just bling that add weight. The only after market parts that I have found worthwhile is the fusuno EX canopies which give more battery room, and the orange fin which aides visibility.

I found with both my nano and 130x that "upgrades" just make it worse. So i havnt bothered with my 450x
