  • Kangaroo blade 400???????????

    Hi all,

I am going out of my mind!

Recently i was flying off of long grass and the tail fin got caught in the grass so it flipped backwards. The main blades whacked the boom and bent it about 30 degrees.

I replaced the tail boom, main shaft, feathering shaft and fitted 3 new servos as the old ones were knackered (2 burnt out and one had broken)

I spun it up and it is going crazy.I cant even get past 1/4 throttle because its junping around so violently.I noticed as it slowed down that the tail rotor shaft was bent.I have replaced that and its still doing the same thing.

I am going crazy trying to figure it out.
    any ideas?

Have just discovered that the "pair" of main blades i just fitted were so far out of balance its not even funny.Used over 30cm of sellotape to balance correctly.

Are these the same blades you flying with before the crash and if so were they wildly out of balance then? If so it could be some other problem.

What I am doing as a relative newcomer to the hobby is after every crash I am now doing a 90% rebuild. The only thing I dont do is split the frame in two. By doing this I know that I have looked at every part and am sure that it is in a worthy state. I have been surprised on a couple of times by things I have found broken which didn't look like it at first. Besides, a rebuild like this doesn't take too much time and it's part of the fun of this hobby in my mind. You also get to know the helicopter better. Just a thought.

buy cheap chinese blades from ebay for this and space the grip if you need to i have run these and not had any problems they are cheap but should be ok for hovering and general flight not really suited for 3d though after a crash change the top end shafts on blade as main and feather shaft will normally bend blade is a great little heli to start with i ran one for ages also have a look on line for the 'blade bible' this is quite a handy pdf if your running the blade 400

yeah lots of em the guys over the club use them as well as its not so hard on your pocket when a 450 goes in and unless you are doing 3d with a 450 pro not really worth spending out for expensive blades

Hi guys, one thing definately worth checking is the seesaw, if you are using the original plastic one, it could have cracked one of the spigots where the screws go. I had a similar problem and it took me ages to find it. With regards to the main blades, try the Align 335 Pro, they are cheap and will give a noticeable difference to the standard wooden blades. The best option when you are reasonably comfortable in not crashing too aften, would be some 325 mm carbons, Align 325 Pro are good and reasonably cheap these days and are balanced far better than both the standard and the cheaper blades you can find. Hope this is of help but feel free to ask any other questions if i can be of help, glad to.
