think al's has gone up to 205 too. must be the vat increase.

i looked at daniel stores too. i think you'll just need to make sure they're mode 2, if that's what you want.

think i'll be sticking to my local shop, they've offered to help with extra li-po's and a charger if they can't pricematch.

best of luck spannaz... hope you get off the ground and more importantly back down again.

Think I will pick one of these up too, seems like a really good deal for first heli. I'll get Phoenix too and a trex when I get a decent job.

Well first outdoor flight didnt go particularly well - crashed during second take off and before then only managed to last 2 seconds in the air before hitting the ground.

my problem before the crash was that the helicopter was tipping to the right and forward during throttling - why? has it not been aligned properly? fair enough a little tip here and there but this was serious, so much so that during the second takeoff it just tipped fully smashing the blades into the ground.

anyway, ordered parts to fix it.

bit disappointed really. if the chopper cant even get off the ground without tipping its next to useless.

        advice?

Something definitely wrong,Did you check all the servos are moving the right way?
What tx are you flying it with?
          what are the settings?

I have also seen this happen when the tail fin gets caught in grass.

I'd imagine the B400 is slightly out of trim.

Best bet is to find a local indoor club if you have one?

I would say that something isnt programmed right in the tx.Also make sure you dont have it in f.mode.

You may have a channel reversed.Look in the manual. There is a pre flight check section which shows you which way the swash should be moving with different stick inputs. My guess is something is wrong there.

Definitely worth checking out the setup however I had exactly the same issue (although after a few flights) and this was caused by the tail snagging in the grass. Solution: well I have seen two amusing ones, one excellent idea and my own fix which so far has solved the issue. The first two amusing solutions were to place a ping pong ball over the bottom of the tail or use a cork. The excellent idea was to add washers between the main frame and landing skid legs so that it raises the tail off the ground. My solution, I just took a sharp knife and a bit of sandpaper and cut off that wee spike on the bottom and rounded the rear bottom of the tail fin. So far no sticking in the grass since and perfect take offs each time. Lastly, as I approach the point where the heli is light on the skids I am very careful to use my cyclic to keep the rotor disk level, and take it nice and steady, either that or just put on loads of collective, get the bird in the air and then stabilise once airborne. As you can tell, Im still a bit of a noob on this but enjoying the heck out of it all!

I'm planning my first Blade 400 flight next Saturday if there is no wind about, I seem to have mastered the MSR doing figure of eights, tail or nose in circles and just
generally flying around the room but I do realize the Blade 400 is a totally different bird. I’ve also practiced on the RC Heli Master Sim but cant find out from the forums just how realistic that software is…. I know most people will say get the Phoenix Flight Sim so the Dx6i transmitter can be used and must admit I am tempted. Just need a bit bit of encouragement to part with my £80

Thanks all for all the info collected from this forum

Thanks for the advice all. I can tell you now that it defiantly wasn't a trim issue, no amount of trim would of been able to keep this from tipping.
You might be right about the tail I will defiantly have a look at that.

Also f mode if that's on whats it likely to do on take off?

My dx is set from a YouTube vid to make flying easier, you think I should bind back to default?

F mode could be likely to cause that because I would imagine it's not programmed.f.mode is basically stunt mode which let's you fly inverted etc but the pitch and throttle curves would need to be programmed correctly.if they are not and you are flying in f.mode then it's Anyones guess how it could react.
To make sure it's turned off,it's the switch on the top left of the tx.it should be flicked back.in the zero position
But read the manual because it's all in there.it will give you a much better idea of what could be wrong

Hmmmm Daniel's Store is now out of stock but still quoting £205 and King's Lynn Model shop price has now gone up to £239 so maybe the £205 was a ploy to get people to spend over Christmas. Well it worked for me as I now have a Blade yeeha!

Never have I known anyone to out of the box & fly & alls well", even when my son got one several years ago now, you need to go through complete setup before you attempt to fly.
They say out of the box!!!
Today's outlook is fine for flying.
