So, I wore out the shaft on my blade 400 motor, a nice little groove where the bearing is. this causes a bit of slop. I called E-Flite, and although they make replacement shafts for their other brushless motors they don't for the 420, and aren't going to. Great huh? So I took an old shaft from my CpPro cut it to size, cut a couple of grooves and flats. I didn't machine in the step. Instead just drilled out the pinion 3mm, just like on the trex450. and it works great. It does bother me that they make shafts for thier other motors, but not for the B400's. It seems a waste, to throw away a perfectly good motor that could be repaired.

Sqwidge,
eflite 450 motor shaft $3.50us. Twister 3d motor $24.00us+shipping. that's exactly my point. instead of paying a couple of bucks to fix, they want you to buy the whole motor. The B400 has flooded the heli market. I read somewhere, it's the #1 seller. Don't get me wrong, really like mine and they have every other part I can think of available. just strikes me as odd.
pieter,
thanks, I appreciate that
