  • Using the swashplate leveller

Hi everyone,Just wandering if anyone could help me here please?
I bought myself a swashplate levelling tool for my Blade 400.So i set about using it tonight,At mid stick in idle up mode....(is this right?) i set the servo arms at 90 degrees and adjusted the links to get the swashplate level.Okay so its all level at mid stick but when i raise the collective stick up and down the swashplate is not level.
Is this because all the servos aren't moving the same together?
Is it something to do with the travel adjust? At the moment the travel adjust on all the servos is saying 100% in the menus.
    Any help would be great.
    Cheers Grant.

as long as the Tx is set to 50% middle stick and all is level .. are your servos all the same ....? if they different then you will get unlevel swash travel ... You can dial the interaction out at top/bottom stick ..

Hi Mate all 3 of my cyclic servos are the stock Blade 400 ones. Its just that its only level when at mid stick, but as i push the collective up/down the swashplate now becomes unlevel. Is this something to do with the travel adjust of each servo. The travel/adj at the moment for all 3 servos is set at 100%.

yes grant use travel adjust at full positive pitch and full negative.

set the elevator first.at full neg and pos
then at full neg pitch adjust one of either airl or pitch and at full pos adjust the other(if you adjust airl at neg adjust pitch at pos)

husky boy dont use grants settings as they will be unique to his heli setup

I've levelled mine by eye and testede movement, and it all seems OK to me, but I'll take a read of this in more detail shortly. I've changed servo gears twice, so I know any settings will be unique to me...

                But cheers!

Alrite Boggy cheers so shall i keep the travel adjust for the elevator at 100% then go off the level of that at full negative and full positive?
I was getting confused and i didn't want to change any of the travel adjust values because i thought they all had to be of the same %.

Grant when your going to full collective (swash plate downwards) as you look at the swash plate from the front , which side is dropping and which side is rising.........it maybe just a simple adjustment of either cyclic linkage that needs adjusting longer or shorter as the case maybe.

Alright Steve where you been mate I need help lol!
I thought about just adjusting the links at full collective to get the swash level but then doing that will knock it out of level at mid stick so i thought it was something to do with the travel adjust as i believe the cyclic servos aren't moving in synch' with each other.
                      Cheers Grant.

What numbers have you got for your swash mix settings plus i take it that your set to 120 degree's ccpm mixing.

Iv'e disconnected my ESC from the motor so i could do my setup in Idle-up mode and get the midstick level and servos at 90 degrees ETC... is it the correct way to do it in idle up or should i do it in Normal mode?
I havn't checked it in normal mode yet,i will have to do it tomorrow as i am in bed now on the laptop so iv'e put all heli away and that mate.
