  • twister feathering shaft

does anyone know the actual size of the nuts that hold the twister feathering shaft on, as the smallest socket driver i can find is 3mm. i haven't got the nuts for it yet(no punn intended) as they don't come supplied with the shaft(tight sods)
unfortunately lhs has no blade feathering shafts in and i don't want to wait a week to fix it. doesnt help that he didn't even know what size the nuts are.

hobby shops are useless unless there selling....!!!

'Doesn't help that he didn't know what size nuts to use'

If they are the same as esky then it will be 5.5mm but you need a nut spinner with a really really thin wall, as for not knowing the nut size, are you aware of how many different heli's there are on the market, not to mention the thousands of parts available from any number of manufacturers/shops for one particular heli.

He is not going to know everything.

If you worked in retail that would be like me coming in and saying "you know when you order from Corporate Express, do you know what size the box is that the carrier bags get delivered in".

Mad has also pointed out some shafts below and most of these will do next day delivery or first class which takes 2 days at most, i know it can be a pain waiting for stuff, believe me i know im the most impatient person alive, but think how long you have been waiting for us to reply and tell you all this, you could of ordered from Fastlads or Ebay and your parts be on their way by now.

I found that instead of ordering what you need, why not order 3 or 4 packs of said item (i have that many spares i could fully build 3 more b400's and still have spares), shafts usually come in pairs so if you order say 4 packs thats 8 crashes before you get stressed about ordering more, i also found that if you have surplus extra's you tend not to worry about crashing as much so you just chill and get on with concentrating on flying.

I bought two 5.5mm drivers from Maplin. I'm going to use the Blade 400 ones in future as these bend rather than break. Use allen keys.

for gods sake ,all i wanted to do was fly this weekend and as the lhs only had twister spares i thought i would try them. all i wanted was a size for the nut so i could buy the tool.i do usually buy from fast lads as i do have a large
selection of other spares and have just happened to run out of feathering shafts.is it to much to ask to get a reasonable response without the lecture....!!! anyhow my lhs shop only stocks the blade ,twister and raptor helis, he specializes mainly in planes. so i don't think it was an unreasonable request
