this is a ridiculous thing to ask , but can you get servo gears without buying the complete set.it always seems to be the two bigger tooth gears to break, and i have a bag full of the gears with the smaller teeth. i know i should buy metal geared servo's but not at that price for this heli.

    cheers matt

The inolabs i got were only £17 and hitec ones are only £20.

If your going through plastic gears then its false economy not to replace with metal geared servos.

they only take so much abuse then fail anyway so would result in replacing servos too.

you could have bought 2 metal geared servos for that :P

i wanted individual gears, not complete gear sets. it was just an idea. its just that the small toothed servo gears rarely break. i can get gear sets no problem for 1.80 from the lhs. cheers anyway mate

How much do you value your time also, I think you have to take that into account also when considering an upgrade.
My Blade has had at least 10 crashes. I upgraded my servos to metal gears one's after the first crash - never had to touch them since. I'm sure i would have damaged 1 or 2 servo's in each crash so in that respect the upgrades have paid for themselves & i've saved probably upwards of 10h of my time rebuilding them!

I dont agree, the blade for me is about learning to fly and the least amount of down time.

Metal geared servos mean i dont have to strip servos on the field and i can get flying with minor repairs.

I also have a complete second head + swash assembly which means if i crash i only have to undo the jesus bolt on the bottom of the main shaft and swap in the other one!

Might cost £60 for servos but IMO its £60 well spent unless you like messing about with gearsets and loosing a days flying as you dont have the right gearsets etc.!

i think this is going off track now. i just wanted to know if you could get seperate gears thats all!!! it was not meant as a debate about what servos i should buy etc. as far as i'm concerned quite alot can be learned by spending time repairing and making sure that the heli is set up correctly.and to be honest i can do that no problem, and i'm certainly not going to spend money on parts i don't need.it takes me about fifteen minutes to swap out a main shaft, so why do i need another head assembly.

i don't know about you but i have other things to do besides fly the blade. besides fixing the blade to me is as good as flying it,

Generally not - at least, I've not seen them available.
You usually get gear sets, and as you have found, end up with lots of spares that you don't generally break.

                        Cheers,

                          The answer is no.

Dont be so tight, gear sets aren't even £2, which probarbly the cheapest part of the hobby
