  • New blade YEah :-) battery woes :-(

So, got my Blade today from fast lad.

I obviously charged up the battery and gave her a test run right away unfortunately I think I have damaged the battery as now the warning lights on the charger are flashing from red-green meaning a charging error !!!
Also the cooliong fan spools up then stops in sync with the green and red flashes !!!

So, after one 4 minute flight it looks like ive got a ******* battery !!! what should i do ? Surley it cant have discharged beyond repair in one trip ? It still Had plenty of go when I landed and switched it off.

    Any Ideas ?

    Cheers all

Congrats with your new Bird, however from what you've said I wouldn't have thought you'd knacked the batt if your powered duration was only four minutes approx.

Contact your supplier and see what they have to say, but remember you've got a cracking deal with the B400, and the charger is more of a "get you going for the time being" then a long term piece of kit.

Perhaps its the charger thats knacked?
I would invest in a better charger anyway as the one that comes with the kit wont do your batts any favours.

Good point Ron. Now you've mentioned it had the exact same prob myself when I was a noob as I was trying to run it off a wall adaptor which wasn't man enough.

well ive got a cellpro4 so I will use that once i get the proper adaptor for the plug.

Its quite new to me ( Charger) and apparently it can "fix" over discharged bats if thats what ive done. After one flight though of around 4 mins I hope its not the bat thats ******* :-)

Its 12V rated at 1.25 so that should be ok eh ?

It is a wall adaptor though froma crappy Walkera style charger.

                  Thats your problem.
If you are charging at '1C' you need 1.8A just for the Bat. You need to allow for innefficiancies too so at least 2A.
It needs to be around 2A or more.

Depending how long the charge board takes too arrive, if you like send it to me, there's a few guys at the club who use B400,s and I can cycle it through the 10S a couple of times Saturday for you.

One of my batts which is coming to the end registered 1.72V in one cell when I went to charge it, and I thought thats it, finally it's had it's day.

After two cycles through the 10S that cell now seems to be OK, and stays aloft with the other two cells and still offers great flight time.

PM me if you wanna take this offer up mate.

I still use an original E-Flite B400 battery in my Trex (as a spare).
Using the cheap charger that was packaged with the B400, I thought my flight pack was shot, but my Cellpro 4S bought it back up to spec afer a couple of charges
Don't trust the supplied charger as far as you can throw it...

                            Anytime Bro.

The Revo packs are top notch, and your 4S will soon sort out your E-Flite batt.
