  • First Backflip!!!

    Hi All
    Got my flycam back so thought I'd try a backflip after loads of practice on Phoenix:-

    [ame="http://www.twserver1.com/heli/flycambackflip_03022009.wmv"]www.twserver1.com/heli/flycambackflip_03022009.wmv[/ame]

    Just need to sort the vibration on the camera now - it was mounted facing backwards between the boom supports...

    All the best

            Nice one Graham, those first aerobatics are quite unnerving to say the least. Try stopping it upside down next time that will really get the heart pounding!!

              Thanks Everyone

              To tell the truth, I was getting a little bored so decided it was time to learn something new - practiced loads on the sim but it's nowhere near as smooth in real life (as you can see from the video!). Going to work on getting it smoother.... and holding it inverted for a while...

              I can fly inverted (ish) in Phoenix but haven't got the guts to do it for real yet so holding it inverted is probably a good next step!

              Anybody got any ideas on mounting the cam better to avoid vibrations?

                Very well done Graham, Isn't it just a great feeling the first time you do more than hover? Like flip and roll etc.

                The camera didn't look to bad actually mate, there's always going to be some vibes there, I would mount it further forwards myself, Mine usually is done to the canopy cover underneath between the skids.

                Anyway, very well done mate. All the best.

                  As I said before, your videos are great inspiration!!

                  Any chance of posting a pic of how you mount your flycam to the B400?

                              I've read the camera shakes less the coser under the main shaft you mount it, maybe give that a go.

                              Good flying!
