Almost destroyed the Twister storm at work today. The standard servos started to pack in one by one, so I ordered some Hextronix HXT900's. After fitting the front elevator servo appeared to move forwards at a strange angle, so I put the throttle hold switch on with the heli powered up to check the servo movements. When I increased throttle the swash was moving as if I were giving a forward cyclic command and when I moved forward cyclic the swash moved as if I had increased throttle. Now here's the dangerous part, I decided to reverse the elevator and the cyclic moved as should but in the wrong direction. I then reversed trottle and the heli just took off destroying blades, flybar, main shaft. Why did it take off when throttle hold was on?
Lesson learnt, never muck about with settings when live.
