Hi, Nooby here, although I have been getting some good tips on here for quite some time.
I managed to crash my Blade 400 recently, replaced several parts, all looking good until I get to spin it up. There is a jerking/hesitation of the motor and it will not run, just judders away. I removed the motor, it ran fine, refitted it and then removed the complete head, i.e. it's now running just the gear and main shaft, it still has the same fault and the ESC is getting (too?) hot.
The meshing on the main gear looks and feels good, so do you think it's the ESC or maybe the motor? Any tests I can do?
Any help would be appreciated.

I decided to go through everything, disconnected everything and let the motor run for a few minutes, no problem. Double and triple checked the main gear, main shaft and the bearings, and refitted, problem returned. I then realised the bottom bolt on the main shaft/main gear was always difficult to reinsert so I removed the collar that holds the main shaft and the bottom retaining bolt then went in easily!!
, so it would appear that the main gear was being held "up" too tight, the difference was no more than a few thou and the main gear "felt" free enough (obviously not). Another bit of self learning gained, tolerances need to be very precise!
