  • Blade 450 pirouette

    Hi There,
My Blade 450 has a strange intermitent fault, it is tamed down for hovering and gentle flight (I,m a comparative newcomer to heli flying) spooling up and hovering are perfect, no vibration, good head hold everything seems o/k, after 5-6 minutes of gentle flying the heli goes into a clockwise pirouette, by giving full left tail I manage to land fairly unscathed. Checking out then shows the tail slider is over to far right, left on the tx takes the slider to the left, but when the stick is released the slider drifts back to full right and stays there. I checked the tx monitor all the cursors indicate all is o/k. On returning home another check and all is working! I have replaced the tail servo which has made no difference, lipo's all fine. What next?

    Any ideas,
    Mick H

As above , but have a look at getting some metal clamps rather than super gluing them on. I had a Blade 400 which suffered a similar problem. May also be worth pinning the boom too with a small self tapper if not already done !

The fault is intermitent, I can have trouble free flights then it will happen out of the blue. I can put the heli away after experiencing the problem, and next time I power up everything is perfectly set up and it flies with no problem. (until it happens again!)
      Thanks for your response
