  • What the best setting for the 300X

Anybody recommend the best setting for the Blade 300X. I am no 3-D pilot just fig of 8 and basic flying. In the manual it recommends no expo.I have set it up at 85% and 40% expo on the elevator, aileron and pitch and 85% and no expo on the rudder. Not sure if this is OK or not .Any advice would be great

Really depends on your skill level,,, if you say you are only doing basic flying/figure 8's,then I suggest fly with what you are comfortable with- yes the manual states no expo but if you are a bit heavy handed with your fingers, then a little does help-would personally suggest you fly with say 25% on aileron/elevator and NONE on pitch and rudder- as your skill level progresses, you can reduce the expo amount to liven things up a bit ..

What the best setting for the 300X

I've had mine for a couple of weeks and have found that 85% DR and 25% expo are good for just general flying about and I have 100% DR and 15% expo when I want it a bit more lively. I've also increased Dial 1 - Swashplate Cyclic gain a little as well as it seemed a bit too slow to react as it came out of the box. Just keep adjusting expo and rates till it feels right for you.

Getting the carbon fibre main blades will allow you to up the throttle to 100% which will make it more responsive and also more stable in the wind too.

I recommend doing the loctite mod on the motor, mine had a little slop after only a few flights which can cause vibrations which upset the AR7200BX. Here's a vid from YouTube, only takes a few minutes to do.

It is completely up to the individual. When I started I needed lots of expo and rates to fly on the sim. Now I find it hard to know if the rates and expo are on or off. Each heli takes a bit of getting used to, but we tend to adjust very quickly. Just be sure to remember which model you are flying and what you expect it to fly like. The first few seconds are usually a bit interesting. Changing settings or using different models is a good way to learn, otherwise you can be good at one model and have to start again on a different one.

In the parameter menu under menu B you can set up the control behavior. Always set this to transmitter mode otherwise the beastx will put in some rates and expo but you have no idea what they are. This allows you to control everything exactly from the transmitter.
