  • 300x phasing issue easy fix.

I've just got a new 300x and noticed the swash phasing was out by 5-10 degrees! I realised that the washout base arms are on backwards! Turning them round required pressing or tapping the pin out of the dogs leg link on the washout base arms.

It could just be my 300x but it's worth checking. If your washout base arms are flat on the outside and have a recess on the inside then they are on the wrong way. You can also tell by seeing if the main grip links are in line with the main shaft, if not your washout base arms are on the wrong way round.

It's actually the first thing I noticed when I got it out the box, I simply lined the swash ball's up with each other and noticed the blades weren't pointing straight down the boom! I thought ide fly it first to see if it was noticeable in flight and sure enough it just didn't feel right when flipping/tic toccing etc.

Apart from that though the heli flys very well out of the box apart from being a little sluggish on collective. I put on a set of carbon blades, the 10t pinion, upped the t/c to 100 flat and added some slight pitch boost and it came alive.

....added extra collective pitch, ide guess im at around 13-14 degrees now..... loving this thing now! Perfect for flying in the yard outside work! A 450 is just a tad too big for the area. Only down sides to this heli are the cost of a decent set of carbon blades and the fact it is extremely noisy for a small heli! It sounds like the HS is about 5000 when in fact with the 10T pinion its only around 3500! This is probably down to the high KV motor, small pinion and the material and cut of the main gear, plus the resonance through that flimbsy canopy.
