  • Quick Question, Rebuilding after crash.

    Hi,

Puting my 300x back together after I had to take the whole thing apart, bent the main shaft, chipped of some main gear teath and snapped the main frame

So anyway just put the belt around the tail gear and it seems to loose, it does turn the tail blades but not as it should, is it likely iv stretched the belt? I only ask because the belt looks ok and can't see where iv stretched it.

    Paul

    Part 2: Pic Included.

So its looking like a Heli again but I'm struggling with the connections.

Can someone help me out with where on the Beast x the servos plug in, I did mark it al but the marks have come off and now I am buggered

Is there no way of adjusting the tension.
Possibly by moving the tail boom out
or the maingear is the wrong diameter?

Hmm, I guess I could pull the tail boom back a little bit, however it's sat in a location with a small notch so it sits correctly, would then mean adjusting the support bars etc.

The main gear is just a standard blade item, Tensioner is the most simple device so al they leaves is the belt.

Find it hard to believe its stretched

here you go taken from the manual.
Belt tension that is too tight results in loss of power and causes the belt to
wear more quickly. Tension that is too loose can cause belt damage and loss
of tail rotor control in fl ight.
To check for proper belt tension:
        1. View the tail rotor drive belt through the opening at the back of the main
        frame.
        2. Use a hex wrench or standard screwdriver to compress the belt through the
        opening.
        3. Apply light pressure on the belt, compressing the belt toward the left side
        of the tail boom.
        4. The belt tension is correct if the compressed side of the belt reaches
approximately halfway to the opposite side of the belt.
        a. If the compressed side of the belt reaches farther than halfway to
the other side of the belt, the tension is too loose.
        b. If the compressed side of the belt does not reach halfway to the
other side of the belt, the tension is too tight.
        To adjust belt tension:
        1. Loosen the two horizontal stabilizer screws.
        2. Loosen the four screws at the back of the main frame.
        3. Slide the boom forward or aft to adjust the belt tension.
        4. When the belt tension is properly adjusted, tighten the four screws at the
        back of the frame.
        5. Tighten the horizontal stabilizer screws.

                Nice, Thanks.

Iv wired it all up correctly and everything works however I don't think iv got the servo arms in the correct positions,I seem to have a bit more pressure and something doesn't seem wright on the servos, not quite sure what iv done but iv disconnected it all for now. Wondering if any body could take some pictures of the servos and wiring on there 300x and post them for me, just so I can see if mine is ok, iv gone by the manual but not confident.

                Thanks

Check your servo gears to see if any have stripped during the crash.
