  • Can someone explain what I'm doing wrong?

    Hi,

Just managed to get 5 mins to get my new 300x out the box.

So I put in all the settings Blade recommend for a 300x on my DX8 receiver

I spin her up and it seems the controls are the opposite way round to my 450x and my Nano, basically on the right hand stick, when I push forward on my 450x the Heli leans forward but on my 300x it's leaning backwards?

Im still new so don't be to mean lol Am I being stupid?

Ok sounds promising! How do I do that?

Do you mean by removing parts on the heli etc or just on the settings?

      Thanks

In the transmitter menu. You should be able to find a menu step called "reverse", find the elevator one and reverse it. I don't own a DX8 so can't tell you the exact steps. Have a butchers in your manual.

          ok, here we go

with the transmitter on, click the scroll button

          select 'servo setup' and click
using the scroll wheel move it to 'throttle', then click and then roll 2 to the right til it says 'elevator', click again, move back to 'travel', click, scroll 2 to right til it says 'reverse', move to the box that says 'Nor Rev', and click once to reverse.

Then you are done, click the back button twice.

Its going to pay to read your manual though at some point, as it will explain quite a few things to you.

          Hope this helps

I have just checked, and there isnt a 300 model preset to download from spektrum.

Just make sure that everything moves in the correct direction.

Im in Chandlers Ford, so probably not far away if you want the setup checked. I can do that tonight, but not tomorrow morning as out flying.... where abouts in Southampton are you?..

If you want myself and discoferret to look over it, we will be out flying tomorrow morning.

Its Discoferrets secret place, I fly there as a guest with him, so you will have to ask him im afraid, if you just send him a pm, im sure he will say yes, but I cant answer for him.

I'd be more than happy to see you there, im not trying to put you off. I didnt find the field, thats all, so its not really my place to tell you where it is. I dont want that to sound unfriendly, but the ok needs to come from discoferret... have you pm'd him?..

We also fly at beaulieu, but its a much longer drive, so we only go when we think the weather is going to be good for it....

No don't worry I understand what your saying

I'm still very new to the Hobby so still finding my feet with it all, once I'm a bit more sorted I will get a bit more involved.

Yes I no beaulieu very well, I have been down there twice in the last month just to watch some of the others, it seems some of the Helis flown up there are nitro? Also iv heard you need a license to fly?

                        Paul

oh and no not PMed him yet.

For beaulieu you need to be a BMFA member, and have a permit.

BMFA membership gives your insurance coverage in terms of damage to people and property (though not your heli). I would highly recommend this, or one of the alternative insurance schemes (RCHA for example). The costs range from about £20 to £30 a year depending on who you go with.

You can get a permit from either Mainly Planes n Trains in chandlers ford, or from Hobbystores in Southampton, they cost £5 for a year, and like the BMFA membership, run from January to January each year.

About 50% of the helis flown at Beaulieu are nitro (like my 600 size), but there are also some big electrics, as well as some 450 and 500 size.

You may struggle with a 300 there, as it is so open there is almost always some wind. Today we just about managed to fly in Southampton, but it would have been completely impossible at Beaulieu.
