  • AR7200bx beast x setup issues

Ok so finally got round to repairing my 300x (thanks to Vikki for the parts)

I ve tried going into the setup of the beast x so I can reset the neutral points on the new servos but I don't seem to be able to get into setup mode, it may just be me but the setup button just seems to be hard plastic with no movement, I would have thought being a switch it would be soft rubber and be able to feel it it engage.

I've plugged in the battery ( disengaged the motor) waited for the ar7200bx to initialize and turn to a solid blue, pushed the setup switch and absolutely nothing happens, held the button for 5 secs and still nothing.

    Am I doing it wrong?

    Any advice greatly appreciated

You are spot on with that one push and hold till you get a solid light for setup menu and flashing light for parameter .

After it initializes and has displayed the firmware version for five or six seconds the blue solid led comes on, if I press and hold the setup button 'A' doesn't flash then goes solid to indicate I'm into setup menu as its indicated in the manual?

Once the unit has powered up. If you hold the button, A will/should rapidly flash, keep holding and it will/should go solid, let go and your in setup mode. If it doesn't then something is wrong.

I think it must be the button I ve now got the unit out as its a pig hiding in the frame of the 300x.

When I power on the the lights scan through a-n then J's led stays on for a few seconds to indicate firmware version then the main led turns solid blue. No other leds are on at this point, the button is solid I cant feel any movement in it whatsoever and no matter how hard I press it, It does nothing.

Getting flippin annoyed now all I get is grief

It would be interesting if someone else with a 300x would try there's then you would no for defo if its faulty.

The only thing that is different about the unit fitted to the 300X is the firmware defaults, in all other respects it is a perfectly normal AR7200BX.

I just checked my 300X and the button depresses very easily and smoothly with a positive feel to it, there is no doubt that it moved and there was no significant resistance.

Thats what I thought, the button on mine is hard plastic doesn't budge a bit, the throttle wire from the esc was hot glued almost on it (not that it makes a difference) This is how it looks, looks nasty and thats how it came I ve only been using my finger to try and depress it, doesn't look right to me.

The Beast X is back looks like they just replaced the top with button, came with a nice note saying 'repaired in good faith, although we have never seen this issue with new helis from the factory' :P
