  • Servo problem

I replaced a servo on the 200 with one I had lying about, not a bad fit, works ok but gets very hot, there not the e flight servos, ones I got from hobbyking, there analogue I think, are the e flight ones digital?

Has anyone used metal gear servos on the blade 200 yet, the plastic ones are not very robust, thanks for reading. Every servo i try gets far too hot, no idea why there getting so hot, they seem to be vibrating all the time dont know why.

That sounds like you're using the wrong spec of servo, I wouldn't expect them to get warm at all. While I don't have that much experience with that kind of thing, personally if the servos were getting warm I would remove them before it caused any more problems.

Your best bet is probably to buy a proper servo for the replacement, and then look into the servo saver mod. This was a common mod on the small Walkera models, but is proving popular on the 180CFX and it seems it works on the 200CFX too. You basically add a slit to the servo horn, allowing it to slip in a crash so you don't strip your gears:

It's probably getting hot because it's not rated for the frequency of the stock servos. As above - suggest you get proper replacements before the "hot servo" fails causing a crash.

or you could just replace the gears in your old servo, just over two quid for a set

I have sent for them already thanks. I never seen screws to take the servo apart so i just cut the lead of it, now i know it comes apart easily, i still can use some of the gears from the old servo.
