Look what I have just found.....

Xtreme Productions Carbon Fibre Frame Set 130X B130X26

After breaking 2 frames now I thought I,d give this a try, also going to fit the auto rotation gear set and the metal mainshaft, little worried over the added weight, but I'm willing to loose a couple of seconds flight time if it means more unbreakable and poss more hold in the wind?.
Over attempted a piro stall turn today and broke the canopy mount off, plus destroyed the tail.
can't blame the pilot so I'm going to blame the sudden breeze...

Good idea. Do you have to have any particular upgrade parts to fit to it or do the standard parts fit? Please let us know how you get on with it. What other upgrades have you got?

most parts id recommend xtreme are as good as any and alot cheaper then lynx, parts i wouldnt bother with is the ds35 tail mod, it was nothing but trouble for me just constant tail wag,
the fusuno canopy looks good but you wont fit a bigger lipo in other then the standard one,
unless you do as i did and removed the screw from the clamp next to the main shaft and fit the canopy mount there using an upgraded one like xtreme or rkh,

all other upgrades have worked well without any breakages, and that is mainly why i have upgraded so much, i do crash ALOT but only because i keep attempting what i know i prob cant do in real life not sim life.....

and yep i prob have spent enough to buy a new 130x but the parts are deff an improvement as i have only had to buy them once and more importantly fit them once, (mind numbing keeping repairing the same part i.e plastic bevel gear, blade grips etc,
so the upgrades are better then just bling IMO......

I agree. I usually replace only broken bits with upgrades. I have tail blade grips, tail pitch slider, metal A gear of course, vertical fin, all the bearings, o rings and although they weren't broken, I have put on longer tail boom supports. They seem to be quite good at preventing the tail section from twisting. I also crash a lot trying to do things for which I don't have the skill.

New frame arrived today, quite impressed so far, not put together yet but I can see they have given some thought,

1st the motor mount is metal and it now slides within the frame allowing a perfect mesh.



2nd the front servo is now slotted into the bottom of the frame and held by 2 screws at the top but also incorporated are washers which hold it away from the bevel gear, so no more burnt out fetts and no more splitting the frame to access it.



3rd, the mainshaft bearing blocks are metal and the bearings themselves have a plate over the top to hold them in which means again its just a case of undoing the plate screws to remove the bearings, no need to split frame again.



4th, the canopy mount is slightly further forward meaning a little more room in the canopy for the Lipo.

the only flaw in the design which may be a problem is the anti rotation bracket is cf and held to the frame via a plastic clamp, this may prove a weak point but time will tell, personally I would have liked it to have been incorporated on the bearing block rather then using the plastic clamp...
but overall well done xtreme heli for listening to the customers complaints and trying to fix them...horizon hobbies take note.

PS my 130 is flying very nicely now with the upgrades and a bit of dual rates. I am on to nose in, piros and rough circuits. I haven't crashed at all in the last 10 flights (fingers crossed).

pics arent brilliant taken from phone but you get the idea.....

build was more demanding then i thought, only a couple of downsides, you cant gain access to the metal bevel gear from the side anymore so you have to remove bearing block, not a big job, and getting that little tail drive in to position is also quite a chore....

but def feels more robust now, a touch heavier maybe but willing to take the hit as long as it can....

also DONT use the motor mount screws that came with this as they are to long and will snag the motor but your existing ones still fit the bracket, so again no big job,

overall very pleased with it, did a test hover in my living room, rock solid could of left go of the tx and let it fly itself....... well nearly...
