help needed, losing tail servo at midstick

You can't see the gears strip as they strip internally. Hold the tail rotor still and try to turn the main gear. If you can turn it, you've got a stripped tail gear.

I had exactly the same thing happening on mine. It was the gear at the back of the torque tube.

It often just about has enough "bite" to stop it piro'ing out of control, but youll find it "weather vanes" with the wind.

Could be the servo, but id check the tail gear first, thats what my moneys on.
the rear TT gear is stripped inside. thanks guys. still not sure why the servo function stops when it was in my hand but will eliminate obvious one first
anyone got a link to the metal ones?

I have just had exactly the same experience. I flew at the club yesterday and crashed on the last flight. Everything seemed OK but when I went to fly it in the garden this evening it just spun round to the left crazily. I checked everything. Servo movement was OK until I spooled it up. Then it just didn't seem to work. I discovered that the tail isn't being driven properly. Either the B gear or the C gear is turning on the drive shaft. It is probably the C as that is plastic and the B is metal. I will dismantle it tomorrow. I don't feel much like doing it tonight after having imbibed a glass or two of wine with my excellent supper. Anything on the 130 is a fiddly little job and my eyes aren't as good as they used to be.

                    where did you get these?

I would say the 130x servos are almost expendable....iv had mine since august last year...lots of hard flying...cleaning contact strip inside servos has helped for a while but ultimately the motor fails usually you can feel one of the brushes loose in the motor. My cyclic servos are lasting well now after removing recomended canopy grommets as they are too thick and work servos too hard at the end points. Original grommets work fine. Any slop in head or wobbles are normally due to worn inner swash bearing race . :-) £13 a servo to replace aint so bad.
