Using Opti lipos

I'm looking at buying some Opti's for my 130x as I just have 2 of the standard eflight lipos at the minute. Connectors are obviously different though.

Will this connector adapt the heli to the Opti lipos? E-Flite to JST-XH Balance Conversion Lead for 130X and Beast | Midland Helicopters Ltd

Nice one. Will get a few lipos ordered. Is the standard eflight charger up to charging the Optis as an "away from home" solution as well? Thinking of taking the 130x away for xmase but don't want to lug the whole PL8 charge rig.

Should be fine,I converted mine to red JST out the box and use a 6 way lead on my Hyperion charger to parallel charge.

Well that was a fail. Due to various reasons I didn't get a chance to try these Opti's until last night. Except the cable doesn't work, it's for connecting the E-Flight batteries to a JST-XH charger not the other way round

Will have to order some connectors and just change the plug on the 130x to use them I think.

I was just about to say they are the wrong way round, i've got some battery type connectors here if you have an inline balance socket to make an adapter of your own?

pete, do what i have done dead simple get one of these;

E-Flite Blade 130x to JST Lipo Battery Adapter converter plug... JST to UMX PLUG | eBay

also this;

JST CONNECTORS, 5 PAIR BATTERY CHARGER CABLE , WIRE 200mm LONG// UK STOCKED | eBay

now put the jst males on the opti lipos and the connecter in 1st link plug into heli, with the female jst make a parallel charge lead

you can balance them also or if you get eflite batteries in the future this will also charge/balance so you can have LOTS of lipos......

For charging, you could do individual cells through your home made adapter or parallel through a balance board, plenty of options to achieve the same goal

Which page Paul?

Charging isn't an issue as I'll have mostly the Opti lipos and my PL8 will charge 4 at a time with the connections I already have. Although I could connect some in series too to charge more at once.
