removing lipo heat shrink

I want to remove some weight from the lipo. Can i simply remove the heat shrink and thats it. wanted to find out first if this would be ok. Its a hyperion 500mah. a tad heavier than the 350 overlander.

I'd be surprised if you'd notice the difference in weight, with or without the heat shrink... personally I'd leave the lipo as is, they need all the protection they can get.... have you seen any videos showing what happens when they get damaged...

question is .why do you need to remove such a minimal amount of weight .I doubt it would even show up on scales

the 350 overlander is one of the best cells available right now for the 130x !

why do you want to fit such a big hyperion cell ?

didn't think it would remove much weight just read somewhere of some people doing this. The 500 mah hyperion is not much heavier than the 350, and only slightly thicker than the overlander. Heard good results with 500 and good so far but could do with the upgrade motor to get better cg.

unless those hyperions are coming mega cheap, i would stick with your overlanders,

i have stripped 450 gensace cells down, and made nearly 5g saving, WARNING ! some cells dont get such good weight savings as this, also remember that to save that amount of weight i also removed the protection alloy plates, all wrappings and all the wiring and resoldered my own shorter 130x plug straight on, this is not an easy job, and doesnt come with out danger ! this could go badly wrong unless you are very happy working with such things.
