  • tail vibration in flight

Hi, just hovered my 130x for the first time and unfortunately it has a heavy tail vibration on spool up. I will try and balance the blades and put some prongs in to solve this but wondered if this is the same cause of the mid flight tail wag / vibration?

How is it once it is in the air? Does the tail continue to vibrate? Is it wagging?

If the vibration is really bad - sort that first. You've obviously seen the tricks with tail blade balancing! Hopefully that should help. You might not fully eradicate the spool up vibes, but it should be smooth in flight.

Once you've got it smooth in flight, if wag still persists, you'll need to turn the tail gain down a bit ... There's a hidden AS3X menu for doing this. I'll try to dig out the link ..

Time to play with the gains i think! Youll love it when you have it dialled in!

To get mine into set up mode I had to set the throttle high end piont to 105% in my DX8, it wouldn't activate at 100%

Really? That's interesting coz I didn't need to with my DX8, something strange going on there.

i have heard that the sticks are able to be calibrated on the dx8, may be its drifted ? ?

please just dont take my word for that, i am sure a member or DX8 owner on here will confirm or deny

D/R , ATV or and possibly throttle curve not up to 100%

Check your throttle curve, in default settings it's only at 80% in normal mode. You need to adjust this to 100% before you can go into gyro gain mode on the DX8 aswell as silencing the warnings. Your throttle curve may be set at 95%, hence the extra 5% required in your end points just to get to 100%. Just a thought, and don't forget to put it back when you're done.

To cure my vibes i used thick soft sided tape cut to tail fin shape & stick on.
