cheapest ugrade batteries

So I've read the battery page, but I want a more straightforward answer. I want to upgrade my batteries. I've seen loads on ebay and various shops. They seem quite pricey to be honest and no big discounts for multi buy. So iwoul like to know what is the biggest bang per buck. Also is it worth getting batteries with standard connectors? I don't know much about batteries, so what are the standard connectors called and what are the 130x batteries called. I plan on parallel charging 6 batteries on the standard charger, so plan to buy the lead to suit. Is it cheaper to baby batteries without the eflite connectors and just use adaptor lead inn the heli and standard charger?

For starters you wont be able to parallel charge 6 Batteries on the standard charger as it only puts out 300 mah . There are plenty of upgrade batteries about i use the Nanotechs from HK but there are a few others its just personal preference really .

the genace 450mah are the cheapest by a long run around £2.35 from giant shark but they are big and need an adapter £6 or converting to jst phr -3 which is the umx connector used on the 130x , though both are available in the uk so fast to arrive. this is the route i went. first with the adapter then converted them so i could sell a adapter cheap if u go this route.

though i would recommend the hobby king nanotech 450mah which have the right connecter at £5/$7.99 ea as there almost identical in size and not much heavier. though they take longer to arrive around 2 weeks (even though i bought from USA they were sent from china) (disclaimer i've not flown these packs as i'm still waiting for a metal A gear)

The Gens ace batteries are terrible for any type of 3D - far too heavy.

The optipowers are great but remember to get the adaptor so you don't void the warranty on the heli by changing the connector.

I am talking about the 450mah Gens ace from giant cod. The optipowers are certainly lighter and much more powerful.

Overlander 350mah x 40c so far these are the best balance for the heli, really good overall power (better than stock)


sure the gens 450 is the daddy for sheer power but they are too heavy really. on the opposite side the miniaviation 300mah are seriously light at 18g, these fly superbly but are a touch under power compared with stock.

tried Nano's, stock, gens overlanders, king power, miniaviations etc. none match the overlander for best overall.

I stripped mine down (gens ace 450). Removed heat shrink. Removed charge leads. Cut back balance leads. Replace jst-xh taps with jst-ph. These now weigh in at 26g. Took about 10 minutes per pack to convert.

There were no metal plates that I could see. Got them from giant cod.

The gens ace 450s can be stripped to 27g easily while still keeping the normal discharge and balance leads. Another alternative is the Desire power 380mah. They all seem pretty good from my testing so far.
