remove broken canopy pins

Hi all,

Has anybody got any tips in removing broken (130x) canopy pins? Mine bust yesterday leaving CF in the frame. It's jammed in pretty tight and I'm struggling to get it out ready for the new pins ...

Any top tips !?

I had too use piles. The replacements didnt hold well either so i at to put a little drop of CA on the cf rod, i suspect HH did the same?

Ow! That must have been painful!

I'd use a small screwdriver to ream / force the broken pin out of the frame

Sorry - don't quite understand what you mean by "piles" ??

Yup, small flat head screwdriver did the trick. Unfortunately, shot straight through a cut a neat little hole in my finger on the opposite side!

I guess if none of the above work you could try splitting the frames and then pull out the bit that is left from the inside?

EDIT: Nevermind, just realised you've already done it. I'll get my coat...

They are a nightmare! Broken 3 already, so i have now ordered these which cost about the same as stock anyway

The only problem is that every time i finally order something from RKH, they bring out a brand new part. Buggers!

Ok, question on this. I'm thinking of buying cf rod 1.5 mm and replacing my sanapped part. So... is it possible to remove the cf rod from the glued canopy mount?

It's not glued. It's just a tight fit, so remove what you can, then push out the remnants using a small screwdriver. It requires quite a bit of pressure initially but once it lets go, it pushes out easily.

Just make sure your opposing hand isn't in the way of the screwdriver coming through ......
