My motor gets quite hot (only mild 3D)and so i rest the 130 between flights until the motor has cooled a bit, does any one else do this? i noticed on the HF forum that some 'Freaks' are replacing the stock motor with an HP08, some say its got more pop and can fly almost continuous, so was wondering if any 'Heliaddicts' have replaced/ upgraded their motor from the stock in-runner........ yet?

Nope, mine gets hot, but you can still keep your finger on it forever after it comes down, so haven't bothered replacing itKev

mine gets hot but not to hot i don't think, i keep meaning to check but its been fine so far no frame parts melting. i have a Spin 8800Kv on its way hopefully be here by the end of next week

Mine 2. They get hot being inrunners and HH. Said it's normal.
Some are reporting well over 300 flights and not seen a single report of a failed one.
when it does go I am going to get a hp08.130x

Mine runs hot too which i think is perfectly normal for a brushless motor, i do let it cool after each flight tho, just as the manual says to do. Plenty of power on it for me right now, no intentions to upgrade but i have fitted the RKH heatsinks which may help but not sure, look good anyway

Just for info...
Today i took my thermometer to the field, i am using the nano-tech 300mah lipo's for 4mins just flying mild 3D at 100-95-100 TH Curve. I have the RKH heat sinks fitted.
Temps of the motor immediately after a flight was 61'C, after a lipo change and canopy fit (approx 2mins), temp was down to 44'c.
I then flew 4mins & tried an F1 type lipo change (1 min) and flew 4mins again. After the flight, the motor temp this time (hardly any cool down period) was 65 / 66'c, it looks like the temps even with a very short cool down period are fine. the 130 flies great.
In my attempt to do the ultra quick lipo change and get flying again, i forgot to go idle up... being very low when i inverted, my 130 fell to the ground on its main blades... i was amazed as was no damage, just flew again.... very nice.Brain Goblin 380. yeah mine gets quite hot too that i can't touch it. but my friend can touch it fine. so i guess just depends on how thick (or numb) your skin is.
I have fingers made for women's nipples so quite sensitive
