  • KBDD Tail blade fitting issues

Hi all, I have a pair of green kbdd tail blades for the 130x.I fitted them today but they seem to be ill fitting. The standard tail blades are loose and floppy in the blade grip and obviously they can be nipped up a bit but they are free moving. The KBDD tail blades seem to feel notchy in the grip and even with the screw undone all the way the blades arent loose and floppy like the standard ones.Anyone else had the same issue? I have tightened the screw till it just bites the blades but they arent floppy in the grip although they do spin out as they should its just like the root of the blade is thicker than standard

Check the root of the blade for the mold injection point - probably rubbing on the screw. Just lightly file/sand until it clears, or just move the blades back and forth until they free up.

It's designed to be very close - apparently the reasoning is it will stop a blade grip screw from backing out and throwing a grip.

I have found the rubbing. Its the very root of the blade rubbing on the screw head inside the blade grip.Is it the same setup as a 450 for example? (A screw into a tail hub)
I could file the blade down but doesnt that then affect the balance and defeat the point of having the blades?

No, just clear the injection mark off and it should be absolutely fine. It's only a tiny tiny amount that needs removing... Mine cleared just by moving the blades in the grip a few times.

Yes, same basic idea as a 450 - you have a hub over which the blade grip fits with a screw to hold it in place.

Same with mine. Just move back and forth in the grip until they loosen up :P
