  • 130X tail bearings.

It appears that the slack is not between the shaft and the inner race but between the inner and outer race. Either the balls are too small or the grooves are too deep. Going to have to get me some good ones soon

Reading around the Web the jist is any other none eflight bearings are a big improvement. Rakon do some. May order some spare tail shaft bearings with a slider. Then again some 001 orings tighten that up.

Talking of bearings I have got over 30 flights since I rebuilt. Should I be oiling the bearings? And if so with what?. Thanks.

Also noticed the swash is slack on the main shaft.

Fair enough, we get a lot of heli for the price but imagine what it could be with spot-on bearings and swash.

Definitely one that's worth tinkering with and refining.

My swash pops it's bearing in a crash but clips back in. Being a beginner I am happy with this it saves anything else braking.

Went to a indoor meet on Thursday night. Had lots of good comments regarding Stability. Also a couple wanting one. Explained it took work out the box but I think it is worth it. If I was learning CP on a 450 I hate to think of the parts I would have broken so far. 130x my first CP heli :-)

            Aye, well done

Yes, it certainly has its place. Shame it needs work out of the box but I guess V2 will fix all that.

Not had a descent go yet and needed 3g weight on the tail to balance him properly but I think he will be great.

I totally agree with that comment, that's why I bought a 130x and I haven't looked back. On only my 2nd 130x flight I was doing loops and flying Inverted for the very first time out of a Sim, what a thrill that was not worrying too much about crashing gave me the confidence to experiment. I have a Trex 450 Pro I'm slowly building, but the 130x has made me realise that I need alot more practice before I take her out for a spin.
What happened to your mSRX? That's what I learnt my basics on.
I have ordered many RKH parts as I loved all the RKH upgrades on my mSRX and want the same for my 130x, I have also ordered new bearings sets from RKH as they are quite reasonably priced and have good reviews.

I think the stock bearing are really cheap and nasty. I had to replace my tail grip ones out of the box as one of the bearings was totally in bits with the 3 or 4 tiny ball bearings left in the race. The top of the case was not even there.

So far I've changed the flange bearings on the tail box and the ones in the tail grips. Had about 10 good flights on these new ones and all is good so far. I've got all the other bearing ready to go in at some point. I just didn't want to go through the hassle of splitting the frame to replace them all for now.

Also have changed the pitch slider to the Microheli one. Again this is an improvement over the stock slider.

My 130x was unflyable due to wag before the mods. Now it great I get the odd tail hissy fit now and again. But I've not dialled in any gyro gains yet. I thought I'd get all the doggy bits replaced before messing with the gain.

All in all the 130x is my favourite Heli at the moment. I've not touched my 450 or 550 Vbar heli's in a while.

Ooh forgot to mention Microheli and Rakon Tail grips on there way too can't wait to try them out

The wag issue needs to be fixed, thats not due to cheap parts necessarily but the set up and gear mesh needs to be perfect. I am a lttle concerned that after spending all that money on upgrades, you still have tail wag issues! Hmmm.

I dropped my gain 2 points and the tail shake is nearly gone.

That's a good tip Vikki, I keep meaning to do it as many have reported back positive results like yourself. I wish i really understood gyro gain tho before i change it

Seems most peeps are happy with a 2 point drop. It makes a considerable difference.

Thanks, i have that post in my favourites, its also nicely explained on HH website. I do understand how to change the gain settings, i just don't understand exactly what its doing to my heli setup as i'm still a noob to all this. How and why does gain changes stop vibrations? What is gain anyway?

I'll leave someone else to explain that as I don't really know.

I do know that gain is increased by the user until wag or oscillation occurs then the gain is backed down about 5% at a time until wag stops.

That I got from setting up my quads. Increase gain till it shakes then reduce till it stops. About all I understand, really.
