tail blowout

Had quite a few tail blowouts tonight with the 130x, this happened during funnels. The tail a few times seem to sort of stick then release, weird.

I have ordered some of the kbdd blades from FL today so they should help

Anyone else have the blowouts?

Yep,my original one has been sent back to HH,it blew out all the time.....my other one is absolutley fine

Really?! Im going to send HH an email then, seems I got a dodgy one, must be the tail servo

I agree,mine had a really bad vibe on start up,even the big tail gear wore,and the new one i put on.

I flew mine in the gusty wind yesterday and had the tail blowing around 30 degrees just in the hover, it was fine indoors so I think it could be the play in the tail pitch slider, mine has around 2mm of lateral play which I imagine will make it flap about quite a lot when a gust hits it.

I will fly it today, should be no wind by the looks of things, might stick the new kbdd blades on it too.

its worth checking your tail gears aren't slipping - they are only held in place with a very tiny flat on the shaft.

seems a lot of guys are pulling the gears (especially the c iirc) and applying a little CA before sliding it back on. Also worth checking for vibration - make sure your mains are balanced and feathering shaft is straight etc. Vibrtaions sometimes caused blow outs on the mCP X and this is a similar system.

my tail has been invincible so far, so it can work properly lol.

I was out again today with it and funnels are impossible, it will flip, roll and do fff fine but anything thats put pressure on the tail it lets go, it did it to the point where it span nearly 90 degress, and went into the deck, stripping the gear. Im also having trouble binding the heli, it takes maybe 3-4 goes before if eventually binds, anyone had this?

Contacted HH about it and im going to send it back, I hope they replace it

most tail blow outs i have seen are helped if not eliminated by sliding the tail servo slightly towards the tail or unscrewing the ball link a few turns, it appears the servo gets to the end of where its going regardless of if it is carrying enough tail pitch to compensate or not,

Hi Panosg, i think your right i do need help ! ! ! , i started back at the grey dawn, with the first kits to hit the market, no gyro's and basic radio, all set ups were done with servo horn angles and hole positions, no computer radios back then, since then i have had over 50 heli's, i think the actual number is 58 helicopters, 112 planes, 32 rc cars, and 4 boats

whats great about the hobby is that i still enjoy it as much today as i did over 35 years ago, and i still have trouble with full chaos

My second one started blowing out,the small brass nuts on the tail servo had backed off allowing play....my first 130 didn't have this problem as i checked it.

My first one has been replaced by HH

Mine arrived at HH today, just waiting to see what the problem is, hopefully they will just send a new one back
