Redbull tail issues

Hi guys. Just rebuilt my Redbull after losing it on a loop.
Reached the bottom of the loop and the tail just went nuts and crashed.
Spooled her up after rebuild, all Servos working fine but as soon as I reach take off speed the tail freezes.
As soon as the motor spools down the tail comes back to life and the main blades lift slightly like they do when the main board binds or connects with the tx or you've just powered up the heli for a flight.
Ive changed the board and the tail servo and it still has the problem.
I have a second 130 Redbull and that works fine from my radio so it's no the tx settings causing the issue.

Hi Grant,

Try dismantling the tail servo and carefully cleaning the wiper arm and the carbon and silvered tracks with a cotton bud dipped in genuine 3:1 oil. Sounds as though the servo is not responding to inputs from the board and dirty tracks on these open linear servo's are a common problem.

If the tail only freezes at speed it may be binding under load. I've never had a 130X though, so I'm only talking in general terms here.

Thanks for your help guys. I've replaced the tail servo and it's still the same. Swopped main boards with a known good one, still no avail.
Very odd.

Sounds more of a tail linkage problem Grant as there is the bell crank assembly where the tail kicks up which could be binding or catching on the body or it could be a bent tail shaft causing the tail slider to bind. I would suggest removing the body to see if you can spot the problem. You could also try removing the main blades and spooling her up to see if the tail still behaves the same.

Yup, if you can't spot anything mechanical yourself it's time to go back to basics, strip it right back and start adding things in and see when the problem occurs:

1. Remove main blades and tail blades, and disconnect tail linkage from the servo. My guess is that board & servo are ok and it'll spool up just fine.
2. Reconnect tail servo linkage and re-test (it sounds like a mechanical issue so it may have issues here)
3. Re-attach tail blades and test again, if the problem occurs now it's likely something sticking as the blades pull on the grips

Yes you're right. It's strip , reassemble and test section by section.
