  • Progress With The Blade 130x - Your Advice Required

So I took you advice, in fact, I went a bit further and bought some other bits for the 130x.

    I got the following:

Lynx Tail Boom mod - Not installed
Lynx Tail Boom supports - Not installed

Xtreme Carbon Fiber Blades 135mm - INSTALLED
Lynx Tail Rotor Blades - INSTALLED

I have noticed the following since installing the new blades.

    1. No tail vibration at all.
    2. Very skittish on take off over the standard blades. Its almost like it had too much torque. Once its flying its fine, but getting it of the floor is a little challenging.

I will post a video tomorrow (To tired now) but look forward to seeing your comments and advice in my morning time

One more thing - I used this guys settings http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pvcDO6U-CAA not sure if thats gonna be an issue.

    Thanks all.

CF blades!!! Not really a beginner mod. I'm not sure what your standard of flying is but be careful. I've never used them on my 130X as they will break easy and are expensive. I hear that they make the 130X more crisp as they are a firmer blade and won't flex like the plastic ones. Let us know how you get on with them

I used to fly a 500 and 600, not very well but I never crashed them

So I took it out the front this morning and its not happy with those blades taking off. Once its in the air its stable. No i did have a scare. On the second battery I spooled the heli up and the tail blew out on the ground. I cut the power, no damage. I then flew again and about 20s into the flight the tail blew out again. Luckily we have had a foot of snow so no damage to the heli.

I wonder if the settings I have are not right for those main blades?

I am going to put the old blades back on to see what happens.

Check your 'C' gear on the TT isn't rounded out. Could be the cause of your tail blowing out. Doesn't take much.

I will check that - After the crash into the snow I cant get into the air now and I dont have much control of the tail. I put it back to stock but that has not changed things. when I spool up it just seems to want to to to face me. Take a look at the video.

Now what i did notice - and I'm no expert. Is that the the gear below (at the main rotor end of the torque bar) slips. and if you look at the picture there is loads of dust in there too. I am not sure how sharp that gear should be but it looks pretty flat. Now this could explain why i tended to get the screeching and slipping noise when I first flew the heli?

Let me know you thoughts. I think its called the bevel gear.

Edit: That main gear is knackered, replace it with the metal 'A' gear.

In that case, since its only had a total of 6 batteries through it. 4 of them indoors I will take it back to the dealer. What you think? I'm assuming that's a manufacturer defect?

Don't think my one lasted that long either but I crashed mine a lot when I first got it, was the first CP I ever flew. PM me your address mate and I will send you a metal 'A' gear

Thanks that guy - That's really appreciated. I am in the US though - An Englishman in New Jersey !!! I have Go Nitro Hobbies about 8 miles away where I bought this. I am going to take it back to them as it should not go within a week. I can probably get the metal gear from them. Unless you really ant to send it I can PM you, let know!! and thanks.

Haha! I should have looked at your location Probably cost more than the gear is worth to post.

Put it back to stock and return it to the dealer, if it has not been crashed and has just stripped they should replace it.
