  • New tail servo option

Well it's here at last! The lynx rotary tail servo...

Lynx Heli Innovations 130X Lynx Tail Servo DS-883 LX9000

be warned though several of the helifreak guys have had their 3 in 1 boards fried with this servo! There are tell tail signs such as twitching around centre, if it does this then don't continue using it.

I have ordered one and soon lynx will release the HV version which is good for real fbl controller conversions

got mine fitted but havnt been able to try it yet s I pulled the connector of the main board trying to get the walkera servo out. read the reports about the issues some are having with the lynx servo so I plugged mine into my spare 130x and pleased to see no twitching as of yet. looking forward to trying it out.

      Major twitching with mine

Just awaiting Lynx support. I've tried everything on my end. Luckily my board seems fine when I swapped back out to the stock servo.

Fitted mine today. Phew one of the lucky ones. Works a treat! Did yours develop the twitch or did it have right from the go? I think it's a bit of Russian roulette on whether you get a good or bad one! The packaging was identical to the blue arrow servos I bought same wire tie so I'm thinking it's just a blue arrow with the lynx brand on it! Anyhow hope mine lasts and holds better than the stock tail servo!

Unfortunately it was like that from new.

How are you getting on with the blue arrows are you using them on the cyclic or is there a version that can be used on the 130x tail?

Once I get the rotary tail servo issues sorted I'm looking into going rotary on the cyclics too.

I may venture further and use a full on FBL unit and esc.

I had a really outrageous thought today of trying one of my mini vbars on the 130x de-cased. That would be total overkill I know

Not even sure if that would work.

          Surinder.

I got the blue arrows just for the tail! But I have heard of them being used for the cyclics as well. They do need a larger washer tube to make them fit the MH rotary frame. It makes them look fragile on an impact but I hear the hitecs are also brittle cases as well.

Grrrrrr, that link froze my laptop.

When the blue light is flashing I am kidding.

What servo horn / hole are you using? Got mine going today and I've got a bad bounce on right rudder input and a hard stop with left input which sometimes turns into a violent tail wag. Tryed altering the pitch on the tail but it makes no difference.

Middle hole. Gains at default. Check for vibrations!

Whoops sorry it's the second hole in the 2 hole horn that I'm using... I've seen some use the 2 sided horn with one side cut off using the middle hole. That's what I use on the Hitec rotary ones. I've also seen some use the round servo horn!

Thanks for that. I'm using the one I was using on the walkera one as I'm using a modified c/f push rod. It's 7 1/2 mm from servo horn hole to centre of servo horn, maybe it's too much.

What's the travel of the tail fins? I have the xtreme cf push rod and really don't get on with it. I much prefer the stock one. Have you tried the gain adjustment? -3 is a sweet spot for many. I know it's said again and again but vibrations are magnified in the tail. How does it run with out main blades and or tail blades? Maybe you can balance the tail blades more to get rid of the wag?
