  • Bodies?

I have been flying the 120sr but really don't like the canopy. is there a more realistic body available for them?

I don't think there are any purpose built fuselages for the 120 but with a little homework and measuring I'm sure something will fit. maybe search cx2 fuselages they are getting cheap now and still about. because the 120 has a tail motor its fairly simple to modify to fit.

It would appear there are a few that will fit. I've never dealt with these companies so can't comment on quality or service.

      MD500E-120SR

and the cx fuselage will fit.

Honestly, don't bother. Learn on the 120SR - then move on. It's a great heli to begin with, but you will probably want something more advanced within 6 months if not sooner. Scale helis look great, but you really need to get to a level of skill where crashes are few and far between. Scale models don't tend to crash well!

Don't bother? Not everyone wants to be a 3d god Tom and not everybody wants to fly the biggest best heli. If modding and messing is your thing red five then crack on i say

Do it if you want to, just remember that more weight will effect the way it flies.

Not saying don't bother with scale or modding - just that the 120SR is a great learning tool, but there are possibly better helis just around the corner that will be better suited to some scale mods. There's the 130X red bull edition, plus plenty of 450-sized scale bodies IIRC.

Red's choice of course, but I would still suggest retaining the 120SR as a simple learner, then get something else to put some scale mods on ...

                Worth a look ... http://www.heli-scale-quality.com/

You are probably right about not modding the 120sr yet but the tail boom looks so ugly it needs something to make it look like a helicopter. Once I'm over learning on it a re body will keep me flying it.
