  • Belt tension

Hi all got a used Beam E4, it came ready to go just BNF, I had to put the tail and head back on, due to being sent in post, it was a model that was flying before being taken apart and the tail tube went in to the same position as it was taken off, just the belt seems tight, now I am a total noob to helis but it seems tight to me just wondered as the title says what should I be looking at for the correct belt tension.

    Thanks

    Jason

Poke the belt just after the pulley's it should move about 3mm. Make sure you have the twist the right way

Just where the tail pulleys are make sure you can only push the belt over about 3/4 of the way to the other side and not touch. Tighter is better than too loose.

Yeah thanks guys that's spot on, I suppose it has to be fairly tight as there is no lip to stop it slipping off the bottom of the gear.

And yeah got the twist in the right direction, double checked that one before I flew it :-)
