  • Is that my bad luck?

Since the last time i crashed my Beam (a few weeks ago) i have given it a rest and concentrated on flying my nitros..

When i crashed it a few weeks ago (a combination of battery losing its oomph after 4 min and 18 mph wind ) where i couldn't get it back and flicked hold and let it glide down as best as i could.. i ended up breaking the bottom frame, canopy and the battery tray as well as the usual damage..

Funnily enough there was instances where i put the beam nose in the ground going full chat and never harmed the frames..

Tonight after rebuilding the Beam and taking it for a test hover in the park, i got flying and during a low flip i ended up crashing it again.. Not a problem, i have the parts, but i broke the bottom frame Again!!!

Is that is a weak spot on the Beam? Are the skids too flexible that the frame ends up breaking (i had gorilla skids in the first crash but because they are very flexible, i put the original beam struts during my second crash)

Anyone find that common, or is just my bad luck?

p.s. because of that little mishap, the Beam is not going to make it to Scotland this weekend Shame i wanted to show it the sights

We broke one of them once as well, but the main thing that use to break on ours was the flipping gear collar, was it our old one Mo?

Yeah tonight it was your old one I found with my original Beam that the collar always goes.. But with the new hardened ones they do survive if you flick hold in time..

The new hardened shafts are no different to the older ones in my opinion (even with hold flicked before a crash they slightly bend, they are harder to spot but they do nonetheless.).. I don't think the benefits of the harder shaft and the higher price is justified.. But you can't buy the normal ones anymore..

So going to order a couple of bottom frames and get them airborne soon.. A bit miffed off about the bottom frames going in 2 consecutive crashes.. Hopefully it won't happen again, or i'll have to think of a mod to reinforce the point where the struts are bolted to the bottom frame..
