Just make sure you use a block of hard wood to avoid marking the shaft with the face of the hammer

Think that was aimed at me, as I asked the question on the Scorpion motor earlier.

At least we know why Daves self exploded

I really couldnt answer what main shaft it is, I would imagine it was a hardened one that was in it as I had heard a few stories of the softer ones previously.

I'd be very surprised if that was one of the hardened main shafts. They are as hard if not harder than the V2 ones which never bent over like that

The main shaft looks familiar. I've had two 450 flybarless mid-air explosions with a similar outcome. Not a beam, though.

Yes my Beam Did explode on Sat, which I did find quite funny. found the head speed calculator and yes 4000rpm was a bit much lol.
Are the align pinions the same picth as the beam?, going to put a 9t on it and try again.

Yes Dave, Align pinion for the 450 motor will be fine Make sure you replace the main shaft with a pro hardened one

Pretty sue I bent a mainshaft in flight very early on, the headspeed was over 3000rpm, although not deliberately and it fell out of the sky, the boom supports fell apart from the vibes and the mainshaft looked as bad as the one pictured plus I needed a new boom too. Good thing was that the blades supplied in the kit survived this crash
