  • Tail pitch lever, slider problem ??

Just repaired my Beam after my crash the other week but since changing the tail shaft i seem to have an issue. After test flying tonight i noticed when i punch the power the heli spins 90 deg anti clockwise and dosnt right itself without correction. It didnt do this before. Since checking over i noticed the Tail pitch mechanism was not running really freely. Since taking it apart again i now have it where the slider moves freely and the lever also moves freely. But as soon as you link them together there seems to be slight friction throughout the movment and im wondering if this is whats making me loose control when i hit the power. It dosnt appear to be out of shape or damaged.

For steady hovering or gentle flight the heading hold works fine.

I am by no means an expert when it comes to the beam but a couple of things may cause this

    - gain on the gyro too low
    - belt may be slack

Thanks for the reply, as for gain it hasnt changed since i last used it so i dont think that should be it. The belt feels nice and tight too. So am stuck which made me look at the slider.

fair enough, is it kicking out in normal mode or idle up as mine will kick out in normal mode but holds solid when I punch it in idle up

I had the same issue during my beam build.. I found that the tail shaft appeared to be smoooth on it's own but when assembled it was binding,, tried everything and as a last resort I wrapped some very fine emery paper around the shaft and really just removed the high spots with sanding it..this cured my issuse

And as you have just replaced the exact same shaft.. try sanding it down slightly
