  • Beam Dampers

Been flying the Beam for 9 months now and it's still impressing me big time.

I had not replaced the dampers for a while and the head was getting sloppy and it wasn't as accurate as it should be.

So Rob sent me some of the standard replacement dampers which include 10x 90 and 10x 80 orings. I decides to stiffen up the damping by fitting just 90 Durometer orings instead of the 80 on the inside and 90 in the outside.

I've done over 15 flights with the stiffer head and loving it. Went out tonight and with strong wind the Beam felt much more planted than with softer setup.

    Hi Richie,
Strangely I have been flying mine with 2 hard rings in instead of the one soft and one hard for a while now. As you say much more planted.

Apparently t rex v1 Mike Trueblood dampners fit the beam without too much modification

forgive me I know it's RR

I might have to have a go at this.

I still loving my Beam large. Fly it almost every day
            Cheers Matt
