After market tail servo mount

Hi All...

Still flying the Beam,even more so now.. must have close to 100 flights with her now. But the evoloution of the heli to my liking continues, wth a mixture of aftermarket parts... eerrmm and some align ones..

Fitted these the other night as I did'nt like the align blue ones that I had fitted on the heli (the plastic ones were Orrible in the kit), and the blue, just did'nt complement the lovely head and other fittings and they were cheap.. on Ebay UGT-10 12mm Servo CNC mounts 3dx450 and T Rex 450 on eBay, also Helicopter Parts Accessories, Helicopters, Radio-Controlled, Toys Games (end time 12-Jun-09 08:48:44 BST)

Mikee, servo mounts arrived this morning from Sportsmoto.....I chose black and they are quality CNC metal......thanks again for the tip..

I've also put on the trex450 landing struts as you suggested.. Had to work the holes on the struts slightly, but they are a little bit wider, and a little bit higher than the supplied struts. They have lifted the whole heli slightly, and do not look out of place. Have the added benefit that the tail clears the grass quite a bit better!

LOL..probably think I'm nuts, It's funny how we relate differently to things. When I was flying my Dyna-X I threw the beautifull CNC alloy ones into the spares box and used plastic ones.

The thoughts at the time where, Alloy potentially fatigues, limit vibration transmission to the servo, have a little give to not over stress the servo lugs and not add a 'Hard' point to the boom itself where they clamped round it. Shame really as they were very pretty and went to the new owner still in the spares box.

Hi Brian, Not really an addict of Bling myself, but have to agree with Mikee that the ones that came with the Kit are not really very good. The screw which nipped it together goes slightly off center when tightening it, and wasn't the best of fits...Only reason why I changed it.. I guess I could have used the align ones.. but they're blue

Me neither Andy, I'm not a huge fan, but on the wee ones there are some nice bitz around and for not a lot of money.

BTW My comments really relate to Nitro especially 90's which do tend to vibe considerably more compared to leccy stuff. I must admit to not being a fan of boom mounting servos if possible as I find the lugs get snapped of to easily. the Trex 450 Pro Robbe Millie have the right idea. For Nitro I like the servo as far up front as poss away from the oil.
